Steve has been active in NARI since 1990, having helped to organize a new local chapter, Ohio Valley NARI, in 1996. He has served as President and Chairman of the Board and on numerous committees of that group since its inception. Greg Kelly, CLC, has been with the company since 1981 rising to his current position of Production Manager. He is a National Association of the Remodeling Industry Certified Lead Carpenter. Greg is an invaluable part of the reputation built by this company. His talents and technical expertise are among the best in the industry.

Eric Gumbert, our Lead Carpenter, started with the company in March of 2002. His advanced skills and talent were obvious from the first day. Eric has 14 years experience in construction, prior to coming to Steve Zimmer Remodeling and has also completed studies in HVAC, Electric and Carpentry.

Although the company has, only employed Linda Corbett, since March of 2003, she has been a friend & client for more than 20 years. Her degree in Communications from the College of Mount St. Joseph prepared her well for the multi-tasking required to manage our office.

Continuing Education
Due to the rapidly changing technology, products and methods we at Steve Zimmer Remodeling are committed to the process of continuing education.
What is a CR? What does CLC stand for? The National Association of the Remodeling Industry designation of Certified Remodeler, CR, and Certified Lead Carpenter, CLC, are important to consumers.

CR or CLC candidates are required by NARI to submit an extensive qualification matrix. The candidate must have a required level of education & experience, in both the construction and business fields. Once accepted, the candidate enters an extensive study program followed by a 6 –8 hour exam. Continuing education is required for yearly renewal.

When homeowners hire a remodeler with these credentials, they can be assured that the work is being preformed by a company with experience, dedication to training and a commitment to ethical conduct. These professional certifications are your assurance of quality.

Another part of our commitment to continuing education is our membership and participation in the Remodelers Advantage Roundtables. Remodelers from around the country meet to mentor and support best business practices of its members.

Awards

Steve Zimmer Remodeling was named a finalist for the Better Business Bureau’s 2004 Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics. Torch award recipients were chosen by a distinguished panel of independent judges. Only 19 businesses and nonprofit organizations in the Tri-state area were recognized for their commitment to the ideals of marketplace ethics. Steve Zimmer Remodeling is proud to be one of them.

Steve Zimmer Home Improvements has won two Contractor of the Year awards from the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. These awards are given in several categories with entries judged on how well the project meets the needs or requests of the client, creative solutions to unusual obstacles and the overall design and quality of the project.

In 2001, we received the Contractor of the Year award in the Residential Kitchen, $30,000 to $60,000 category. In this project the goal was to modernize the appearance and function of the 70’s style kitchen while achieving a larger feeling space. The client’s specific request was "I want it to be WOW!"
